What is Ginkgo Biloba?
Our Ginkgo Biloba consists entirely of 100% extract from the Japanese Temple Tree, one of the oldest and most respected trees in the world. This special tree contains a unique combination of flavonoids, ginkgolides and bilobalides. These bioactive substances are known for their powerful antioxidant properties, which can support the body in fighting harmful free radicals. Additionally, Ginkgo Biloba can have a positive influence on blood circulation by promoting blood flow to the brain and other parts of the body. This makes it a widely used herb to support mental processes. It can contribute to improving concentration ability, strengthening memory and stimulating a clear mind. Thanks to these properties, Ginkgo Biloba is often seen as a valuable natural support for both your physical and mental well-being.
How do you use Ginkgo Biloba?
Ginkgo Biloba comes in the form of 50 grams of coarsely cut and dried herbs. Although Ginkgo Biloba can be consumed in various ways, we recommend brewing it as tea. Use 1 or 2 teaspoons per cup of hot water, let the tea steep for 5 to 20 minutes and then strain. The longer you let the tea steep, the stronger the flavour will be. The tea has a mild, slightly bitter taste with an earthy undertone. Use a flavouring or sweetener to make the drink sweeter to taste.
For optimal extraction of the active ingredients, it is important not to let the water boil when pouring it over the herbs. Water of about 90°C is ideal: allow boiled water to cool for a minute or two before using it. A well-sealed teapot or mug with a lid helps to retain the volatile compounds during steeping.

Where does Ginkgo Biloba come from?
Ginkgo Biloba, also known as the Japanese Temple Tree, is reportedly the oldest tree species in the world, with a history of more than 200 million years. The tree originates from China, where it has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. The name Japanese Temple Tree comes from the fact that Ginkgo Biloba was often planted around Buddhist temples in Japan and later became known to the rest of the world through that association. Ginkgo Biloba also has great symbolic value in Asia. The tree has fan-shaped, bright green leaves and can grow more than 30 metres tall. It is a very long-lived species, with specimens that are more than 1,000 years old. It no longer exists in the wild but is still cultivated.
