What is Damiana?
Our Damiana consists entirely of 100% dried and finely ground Turnera Diffusa, a plant known for its stimulating and balancing effects on both body and mind. The powerful action of Damiana is due to the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids and essential oils, which play an important role in its health benefits. These substances can contribute to increasing energy levels and promoting a healthy libido. Additionally, Damiana is known for its stress-relieving properties, helping with relaxation and restoring mental balance. The herb can also have a supportive effect on digestion, making it a versatile choice for anyone seeking natural support for a balanced and energetic life.
How do you use Damiana?
Damiana (Turnera Diffusa) comes in the form of 50 grams of finely ground, dried herbs. Although Damiana can be consumed in various ways, we recommend brewing it as tea. Use 1 or 2 teaspoons per cup of hot water, let the tea steep for 5 to 20 minutes and then strain. The longer you let the tea steep, the stronger the flavour will be. The tea has a bitter, sharp and warming taste. Therefore, use a flavouring or sweetener to make the drink sweeter. Damiana also combines well with Muira Puama.
For optimal extraction of the active ingredients, it is important not to let the water boil when pouring it over the herbs. Water of about 90°C is ideal: allow boiled water to cool for a minute or two before using it. A well-sealed teapot or mug with a lid helps to retain the volatile compounds during steeping.
